HINCKLEY YACHTS
The Hinckley Company was founded in 1928, in Southwest Harbor Maine. In the beginning, the yard built and serviced wooden motorboats for local lobster men. During World War II, Hinckley received a government contract to build 600 military boats. After the war Hinckley changed course and started crafting sailboats. By the mid 50’s Hinckley had become one of the world’s largest wooden yacht manufacturers. Since that time the company has been in continuous operation moving on to build classics yachts such as the Sou'wester sailboat and the Picnic Boat. Over the years Hinckley has become well known for its attention to detail and material innovation on each boat coming out of the yard. So much that their designs and technical advances for both powerboats and sailing vessels have created a remarkable demand among discriminating racers and recreational sailors from all parts of the world. Hinckley introduced the Picnic Boat in 1994. The phenomenal success of this boat is largely explained by its aesthetics which bridge the two worlds of a working man’s launch and the luxury yacht. The Hinckley Picnic boat is the perfect vessel to explore South Florida's spectacular waterways.
